centre guage housing lights
#1
i've got a three gauge centre pod, fitted prior to collection by subaru - using the racimex guages... a quick questions...
q. they are lit up all of the time (even in daylight) with a white light - can I easily change this light to green, i.e. matching all of the other instrument lights?
I've looked behind the unit and found the bulb, however, removing this, or generally messing with it seems to totally screw up the reading of the guage - wierd connection maybe?
any suggestions???

Without seeing it in the flesh it's difficult to say. It sounds like there's no filtering at all for the bulb, if you were to add coloured bulb covers or other light filters you could pop in a higher wattage bulb to keep the brightness you desire. Any help?

sort of, thanks..! it's funny you say that as I think the bulbs are painted over anyway - they look like they have a tippex-y type paint on them!
nevermind - think maybe I will polish them off, then use maybe a glass stain type of paint on them - hopefully this should enable me to see green
