start by removing the handbrake cover part of the centre console. That'll release the bit under the ashtray, and just gently pull it off from the bottom.

Hmmmmmm how do you remove the center consol around the hand brake?

And "bump" to the front passenger seat question.

Thanks

lift up the arm rest & there are 2 screws with caps on them, remove those. Lift the plastic handbrake trim from the rear & it will come out - disconnect the plugs for the electric mirrors to remove it fully.

The gear lever surround will just lift out from the rear.

Passenger seat - there are 2 plastic covers over the rear bolts, gently pull them rearwards to remove them - they may need some persuasion with a screwdriver.

job jobbed!

And before removing the seat should i be disconnecting the battery? Is there any electronics located under the seat?

Thanks

I don't think you need to disconnect the battery. Can't remember if there are seatbelt pre-tensioners on that year. A quick look under the seat should reveal a plug.
