Boost gauge takeoff ?

Theo's option would seem the best to me as you've got no worries with regard to getting a secure and tight fitting of the pipe. The second option looks easier, but less secure...

Its all fitted and working, used the second suggested takeoff. My gauge came with some small rubber sections of pipe which I used to join the manifold nipple to the pipe to the gauge so no probs. All this for 35 quid.
I want to find out the boost pattern under 4th gear WOT, prior to the Dawes, but found its quite tricky to look at the road, revs and boost levels at the same time, methinks I'm going to need to get a co-pilot to help me with this one.....
I have noticed the boost jumps to 15psi then immediately drops back to 13.5, is this normal ?
