Default Help! Water in Spare wheel well 00 classic

Anyone had this? I'm baffled as it doesn't seem to come in from above! Just a bit worried as winter is on the way!

Cheers.

Usually comes in round the rear lights or spoiler fixings

Get someone to spray a hose over the back while your inside the boot with a torch!

Mine was n/s rear lights. I laid in the boot while my yougest sprayed the boot with a hose...........no effect. You have to take off the trim around the lights, THEN you'll see it!

Same as above... You should see a wet patch on your carpet by one of the back lights.

Youll need to re-seal round the back lights with a good silicone.

Also check your seal - they tend to split just to the right of the left hinge arm (with the boot open) or to the left of the right arm.

If its split - fix with a tyre repair kit - worked on mine

I had this in a Legacy Saloon. Wheel well nearly full of water There a rubber bung in the bottom which I released and managed not to soak my feet

I kept an eye on it for ages kept expecting more water in... BUT nothing ever happened again! - very mysterious!

Wink

Personall, I'd NOT use silicone to seal it. It'll do the job, OK, but should you ever need the lights off again, it'll be a nightmare.

The "proper" stuff to use is non-setting mastic used for sealing caravan bodies, available from any carvan dealer. It's light grey in colour.
