Unhappy

I have a Racimex gauge kit which was fitted as a Subaru Netherlands approved option when I bought my car last year.

The gauges look great in the dash but condensation gets inside, particularly during the colder weather. I have spoken to other people with the gauges and they are not suffering with the same problem. The supplying dealer is also confused.

The gauges have been replaced twice so I can be sure that I do not have faulty ones.

I have got around the problem by taking the bulbs out of the oil temperature and pressure gauges but I would like to get it sorted out properly before the winter months.

Interestingly, the boost pressure gauge does not suffer with the problem.

I am considering cutting slots near the front of the gauges to provide some ventilation.

Any thoughts?

The autometer gauges get better as they get older is what I've found...

I dunno if venting would help, but would guess that it would.

Wink

dont know the mechanics behind it,but you can buy little sachets that are full of pellets that soak up moisture in the air, they have to be changed now and again, more regular the damper it is,sort of like a chemical sponge.

probably no help at all!
happy xmas,
steve
