If you're interested I have a brand new Falkland quickshift to fit the log levered (upto MY97), if you're interested you can have it for £20 (I bought it by mistake).
This combined with a Momo (or similar) gearknob will vastly improve your shift.

MOMO Race Air Leather or variant. Lovely. Can get it at most Halfords superstores for £40. Easy to replace ****, at least on my 94 WRX. Like falling off a log.

Andy,
I'll have a look in the garage, but I think I have a gear **** and leather gaiter from my old MY97 car!
It's a milled aluminum gear ****, and the leather gaiter has a matching brushed aluminum surround (replacing the crap looking rubber gaiter)
Cost me £95, but open to offers!! I'll see if I can find it!!
Cheers

Putting this on the web as well as replying to your email, to show others as well.
Right. All of the cars that I have had are all unscrew types. Unscrew anti-clockwise. Will normally seem extremely tightly in place at first. I have bought a 94 WRX, but don't pick it up until Thursday morn. I will be fitting a Race Air Leather to mine then Can let you know then. Look the following pic of a standard ( i think ) stick against a quickshift. They both appear to have thread at the top

I've got a Momo; even reduces the length of the lever by about 0.5" - which is nice!

OK, so *exactly* how do you guys get the aftermarket ***** to stay put? I've got a milled aluminium **** from Demon Tweeks (Momo on the way...) and no matter what I do, it works itself loose after a few days. Clearly incompetent, I know - what's the fix?

David,
The Momo ones are pretty tight fits in the first place if you use the right rubber spacer. They also have 3 little screws that keep it on. Had mine since January without any probs.
