Wet floor

The carpet is sodden on drivers side under pedals. No hole in floor but can't see where it's getting in! Heard something about it possibly being drainage channels in engine compartment being blocked??? Anyone enlihten me? Also, car is 94 turbo, UK spec, does it have a low petrol warning light & if so, how much fuel in it when it comes on???

Don't know about the water, but you 94 UK doesn't have a petrol light same as my 96 UK. The tank holds 50 litres tho, and should last around 200/220 miles.
Hope that helps...
Darren.

Doubt it would be the aircon. Favourite culprits would still be a grommet, failing that windscreen seal?
There's a *big* grommet for the aircon and myriad little ones too...

Hi Guys,
Has anyone else got any idea what is causing the leaks in the passenger footwell? I have tried all of the above and I still get random leaks, It has not leaked for the past two months but then it leak a couple of days ago. Is there a heater matrix under the dash?
Thanks for your help.

Rob-in my car, the water was getting in through (hard to explain), where the bulkhead meets behind the dash? If you remove the cowling for the wiindscreen wipers, you can see the back of the bulkhead - imagine looking at the other/outer surface of the dashboard - and where the two panels meet they are welded and sealed. Now, when it rains, water (which doesn't run away via the inner wing channels) sits in this area. When I removed the carpet and cut away the heavy rubber mat type thing under the dash, I could see where this seal had eroded, exactly where the water sits. I had to dry it out with a hair dryer and bung it up with silicon. It was amazing how such a tiny sodding hole managed to soak the floor as it did. Hope this helps!

Cheers Bryn,
I sussed out where my leak was coming from, it was in a similar place to yours. I removed the wipers and cowling across the bottom of the windscreen, there are three big plastic clips that hold it in place underneath out of view, the one on the passenger side was not holding in properly. Beneath the clip is the air intake to the heater the water was getting passed the clip and entering the heater and then dripping (once it was pretty full) on to the floor
I sealed the clip with some Dum-Dum and refitted the cowling this seems to have cured it hopefully!
Regards
