Red face

I bought the car before reading BBS so i know i was a fool.......

I have just had the optional Boost Gauge fitted. Nice pod that sits just behind the steering wheel - all done very professionally.

However - the gauge doesnt match the dash at all!! I bought it from Subaru so am i wrong in thinking that the red dial on black with white backlight should infact be a yellow/Orange dial with a green glowing light to match the dash rev counter and speedo?

Am i sad or should i complain???

What was the part number of the boost gauge you bought?

This is a white dial with black lettering? If so that's correct,
and I'd guess you have an earlier Impreza with the black/orange dials,
rather than a later Impreza with white dials (MY98 onward...).

How much did you pay for the gauge before fitting?

Mike.

Sorry - ive got the new WRX!!

Dont ask mate - oh ok - it cost £180 inc VAT and fitting. Its got a black face with an orangeyred dial - white lettering. It lights up white when the lights come on. The part number (from the catalogue) is H5010FE000

I think the pod they've fitted is great - but the face just looks out of place completely!!

Should i be bothered?

James

Yeah I'd be upset...but then again you bought a new WRX :-)

Sorry!

My Subaru boost gauge arrived today and it's part number is H5010FA032...

This one's white background orange dial.

Mike.

Cool

Jacko,

Just a quick post to let you know that I have some Defi gauge packs on their way 3x60mm or 1x52mm (Defi are the same gauges that STi are using for the optional parts pack in the new age as also shown in the jap motorshow) for the new-age Impreza which will be ready for sale in carbon effect around the end of March/beginning of April. You can see them here

Question

Hi Nito,
Thanks for the note, I would be interested in the Defi 52mm GENOM Steering mount New age Impreza. This is of course if the Price is right...
Could you possibly send a bigger pic of this particular gauge to me...I have a 97MY with Black faces, red needles and white numerals. I think this new age one is the one for me as the old STi5 type has white faces I believe?
