Hi there,
I guess many of you have seen this MFD and must agree that it is one piece of sexy equipment.
Now my question is:
Is there any remotely like this for the scoob ?
I guess the SECS is similar but doesn't have that fantastic display.
Is there anybody out there planning on doing something similar to this ?
Comments please.
THANKS.

AFAIK = as far as I know.
All I know of is the SECS thing, AndrewC's Scoobymonitor and various half started jobs on my work bench that I don't really have time to play with at the moment...
There's some laptop based stuff as well - some of that looks nice, but it's not "stand alone"
None of them are "pretty" like the R34 MFD

I have the delta dash software, and have heard that they may do some gauge style displays with it, but what a work up keeping a 'spare' laptop in the car and then maybe trying to connect it to a small in car screen.
I'd like a SECS device but the display is a tad boring. I wonder if they will bring out a bigger display version ? (I might drop them a line).
One day maybe.....

No problem with older cars - have a UK MY96 myself (with standard ECU)
It's the newer ones I've not touched - people get nervous when you approach them with a laptop, multimeter and a screwdriver and ask to play with their car... I can't imaging why
Not sure what an Apexi FC is??? Replacement ECU or a daughter board thing?
I don't have a lot of time to do anything the rest of this month, but after the house is progressed a bit there will be more time.

The car is a little way off being on the road as i'm changing lots of things on the car so time isn't a problem i'm just planning for the future.
The APEXi is a complete replacement ECU. (hopefully a good one too)

i'll have to try and find out what the diffs. are and see if i can get hold of some of the rocking horse software for the APEXi unit. The mapping software does exist - not sure if it is realtime ?? and i know there are only about 4 people in the country with it.
Although i am prepared to be a guinni pig in the future poss. if you are up for it ??

We are currently working on a VFD (Vacuum Flourescent Display) version of our units. This will not replace our LCD units but will be a higher end model. We also aim to include additional features such as boost controller etc..

Hi Simon,
Sounds nice: Got any prototype pics/sketches you can upload.
High end model - no problem: What guestimated price do you think ?

Dave, there are plenty of commands in BASCOM for driving graphical displays - think Andrew's been working on something.
Trouble is that colour graphical displays cost a f*#"!£@ fortune unless you buy 'em in trade-type quantities.

how about an HKS CAMP?
HKS CAMP on Ebay
just need to plug in any old screen and your off
well not quite true - as it outputs in NTSC not PAL
and then you'll need the HKS sensors to connect it too

Hi,
I have started a project that is base on a mini-ITX-board and a fold-out TFT color-monitor(7") (DIN-sized case).
Along with my own OBD2-software or possibly the the Delta Dash with it's digital dashboard feature(in beta-version now looks really cool).
Cons: The os is windows based
The TFT-screen and PC are both sensitive to the cold winter
weather of Europe
Price.
Pros: The os is windows based
Relatively easy to write your own software
Lots of software available(Delta Dash, GPS-nav MP3-playres etc)
/L-O
