Question

Recently bought a PE boost gauge and was about to fit it today when I got a bit confused about how to connect up the back-light. Then I started thinking - have I actually *got* a back-light!

Can anyone tell from the attached photo if I have all the right parts or if something's missing?

Cheers,
Steve.

PS: can anyone can tell me the syntax of how to embed an image in a post - or for that matter a URL?

The black connector to the right should house a bulb for the backlight. I don't have a PE one, but it's more or less the same as my Autometer. Only two connectors - one boost pipe, one bulb with +12v illumination feed (i.e. comes on with the lights) and a ground feed.

yes it is. There should be a bulb holder that slots in that black connector.

OK, thanks chaps. I'll give PE a bell and find out what happened to it!

Cheers,
Steve.

why the bracket??? Is this peculiar to the PE gauge?

My Autometer bulb had a live wire and a ground wire poking out of it. Check the manual and don't get the mixed up as some bulbs will only flow in one direction and you could blow the bulb if you wire the +12v round the wrong way.
