I've decided to purchase a boost gauge but am also wondering whether an aftermarket petrol gauge will be more accurate than the unreliable std one.

In your opinions, a) would the fuel gauge work affectively, and
b) what boost gauges would you recommend and where's the best place to mount the, and c) how difficult are they to fit?

Just fitted a guage today. Easy.

fitted it just in front of the ashtray (stopped smokin' 2 months ago)in a single pod.

all youve got is two wires which are for the backlight---wire those to the bulb on the cig lighter or ashtray.

... and a pipe fitting-- connect this to one of the pipes coming off the inlet manifold.

my guage cost me £40 pod cost £7, pay your money and take your choice.

Personally, I'd not bother with the petrol gauge - an easy to fit one would use the existing sender unit in the tank (which is more likely to be the inaccurate bit) and one with a new sender would probably be the devils own job to fit safely.

As for boost gauges - they're very easy. If you do a search, there's some threads with some good instructions.
