Question

does anyone know if you can mount 4 point harnesses and leave the rear seats in?

Yes - as long as you have the "ring" style attachments - do you want me to email a pic of mine to you?

you can ahve them mounted with the flat plates also, if you put them with the harness loop at the top it will go through the gap between the two benches quite well.... some pictures of the loop style ones would be nice to see, i have a leather interior so it might rub it a bit more than the normal style..

Don't put 4 point harnesses in without a roll cage, if the car rolls and the roof comes in, you can't move your head whereas you can in a diagonal belt.

Also the shoulder belts must come in horizontally, not up from the middle of the back seat unless you're running a fixed back race seat, otherwise, in a crash, the forces act on the back of the seat and cause it to collapse sending you flying around inside the car. Not nice.

As James/Puff posted recently, an unfortunate chap found this stuff out the very hard way last year at Donington
