Default STI Genome Gauges no longer stay lit up whilst running

Hey guys,

I'm not great at wiring and I have an issue that's just cropped up. I took my JDM 2004 Impreza STI to the garage the other day to get a alarm and immobiliser system fitted and when it came back my STI Genome Gauge pods are no longer lighting up whilst the car is running. They definitely worked before they went into the garage. When I put the ignition in and turn the key, the gauges light up fine and do their sweep check but once that's over the back light stays off.

Does anyone have any Idea which wire may be causing the issues. Which wire runs the constant lighting supply whilst driving?

The pods I have look like this, also with the control box:

I would like to tackle this myself if possible as the car was in the garage for 5 days and I din't want to have it sent back just for something so small.

Advice if you would please guys, cheers.

Because they are old bits of kit the wiring at the back of the control box can some times break/work loose. Check all the cables first stop

I've had a lil bit of a look and they all seem seated fine and also under the steering wheel seems fine. Cheers for the advice so far

I had a look at the connectors and they seemed fine. Weirdly I drove for a few minutes and they came back on and I haven't had any problems since! Cheers for the advice though mate.

Are there four wires from the control box, and does each gauge daisy chain to the next?

If so, the wiring is likely to be:

Red: permanent live (on all the time)
Orange/yellow: switched live. (on only when ign is on SECOND click, ie: before the starter works)
White: lighting, live when sidelights are on.
Black: decent earth.

HTH

If you don't have either a circuit tester or a multi-meter, buy one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-24V-Cir...YAAOSwR21Z1yeI to help you see what each wire is doing.

And DO ensure that the little daisy chain plugs are all firmly in place.
