Exclamation WRX 2001 Alarm Issue - Indicators stay lit when armed

Hi all

after having the car just over a week ( my 3rd bugeye ) i noticed that sometimes when setting the alarm the indicators would sat lit until i turn it off then back on again. also tonight after setting the alarm just the passenger side rear indicator sayed lit turned it off then back on again and it was fine.

Its not doing it all the time just every so often and its not causing any problems at all i just want to know if this can be a simple fix

It is a standard subaru alarm, any one got any ideas

I had this problem on my MY2001 Bugeye, and it got worse and worse with more frequency until the offside indicators were even sticking on when the car was started and on the move. My other post about is somewhere on SN, but basically you will need a new 'Alarm ECU (Sigma)' Subaru Part No. SACC3465, cost NET 73.91 plus 75.00 labour = total cost should come out at 180.00 inc VAT. Believe me, the problem is unlikely to resolve itself on it's own, and the relief from the hassle will be worth paying. When the car is in having the new alarm ECU fitted, take all your keys/fobs, as these will all need to be 'reprogrammed' and you will be given a new four digit code.

You could always get one of a breaker in the marketplace on here and fit yourself, there located under the black panel under the wipers

Changing the alarm unit as far as i know wont need a reprogram just disconnect it and see if the problem goes if it does change it for another.
