Is there any difference regarding comfort and holding you in place? Or is it just colour and material differences? And im talking newage here. Plus would i be able to fit sharkeye sti front seats in my 03?

Yes quite a big difference in comfort and holding of STI seats over WRX seats.


Swapped my old 05 WRX seats for black STI seats and the difference was amazing, felt much more held in place.


I do believe any new age seats will fit bug/blob/hawk (I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong). The big difference if you are going down that route are the door cards between years as the switch gear moves around.


there are a few differences between the seats mind, the Hawk I know doesn't have the little hump at the front between your legs that the Blob STI seats do.


Definitely worth the £250-300 cost to change them.

Where do the black sti ones cone from? Are they in the s202 version?

Forester STi's and some of the niche models have black cloth/Alcantra seats.

Bug s202, blob spec-c limiteds, some hawk spec-c's and the UK wr1 all had black seats with slight variations between them.

As above, I brought a set direct from Prodrive from a JDM Impreza being stripped for rally prep back in 2005 and just purchased a set from a WR1 being broken to go into my 2005 STI, The door cards are different on the WR1 (MY2004) so I will loose the electric mirrors if I change the door cards,
WR1 interior would be a straight swap into a 03 Blobeye though.

I bought some wr1 seats and as I have the later blob/hawk interior I had my door cards retrimmed

I was thinking of this or maybe dying the alcantara black, where did you get it done and was it expensive ??


I am also thinking it wouldn't be a huge issue to loose the electric mirrors as I want carbon fibre ones and they are manual.

I have a set of blue STI seats just about to come out of my 05 STI, car has only done 33K so the seats are in immaculate condition.
