2000 Impreza turbo, Both my rear seatbelts are slow to retract...anyone had any issues and what was the solution?

pull belt out to max and spray liberally with mister sheen or similar furniture polish ,, allow to retract then repeat the process ,, should be good to go unless theres a mechanical fault

 

Will try this...something tells me its mechanical though...havnt a clue how it works either..thanks

Inside the plastic trim, the belt rubs on plastic moulding lines, it slows them down, grind this off problem solved,

 

Ha cool ! I been called a lot worse :-)

I was told the mr sheen etc nullifies the static electricity as well as kinda lubricates the belt - either way as you found out it does work :-)

 

Ive just done the same on my Blobeye, many thanks, work a treat now.

Weirdly enough, the first thing i did on my bLob when i got it a few years back was trimming the inner plastic that rubbed on the seatbelt...

 

What am I spraying with Mr Sheen? The actual belt part?

 

I sprayed all of the webbing part, then rubbed with a cloth. I think it reduces the static...
