Default Problems With Insurance

My car was bumped in a car park while I was shopping. Two guys from Halfords witnessed the bump and informed me when I got back to my car. Sat and waited for owner to show up. Told him I had witnesses that he damaged my car, but he denied all knowledge and drove off. Reported to police and my insurance company who advised me to get it repaired and sorted me a hire car out.........then came my renewal details and because the claim has not been settled (he still says he didn't damage my car) I am classed as at fault, resulting my ncb dropping from max to 3 years resulting in a large price increase. I am not happy, but what can I do?

Hunt him down and torch his motor.

Your Insurance Company / Claims company should have sorted it out on your behalf and be listed as a no fault claim......... That's why we pay a shed load of insurance.

Chase the claim company, Mine are Winns IIRC

If there was evidence and witnesses and he left the scene , the police should pursue it..

Shop around for new prices as well but remember to disclose the on-going claim

+1 about the insurers chasing it, but unfortunately untill the costs are re-claimed from the other persons insurer the claim will remain as a 'fault' claim.
