Default help please

My insurance is due in august I know its a long way yet but I need to start saving up for it. I currently have a uk turbo, not standard, im 21 will be 22 in june with no ncb. In august itl be a year that ive been driving my Scooby, I want to know is there any chance of getting insured on this cheaper than 1200 preferably. I really dont want to come to that state where I wil have to sell it. I dont mind if my insurance policy is capped at say 2-3000 miles a year and not allowed to drive after midnight, pay monthly options etc. it will be my weekend car mainly, i ve always wanted a subaru at a young age so I dont wana have to get rid of it.

Before anyone asks how im insured, im insured on someones elses traders policy, and im working as a voluntary worker (which I wont be now)

All advice will be appreciated, thanks

Your best bet would be TPFT and a higher excess, theyre not the easiest cars to insure at our age, im 23 and have had mines 2 1/2 years im up for renewal this month with 6 years no claims and 5 points im gonna be lucky if im under 1300 fully comp bite the bullet, but if you have owned last year this helps aswell also as you say lower the milleage, bell usually are the cheapest

if you cant afford to insure it properly then you shouldnt be driving it.

non declared mods are great until you have a crash and find out your uninsured.

it might be a member on here you hit that has insured his car properly.

the facts are youre a young driver with zero ncb and trying to insure a modified impreza.

it will cost you £££.

stupid advice like dont declare mods wont help in the case of accidents or theft.

you have 2 choices pay for proper insurance or sell the car and get another when your old/experienced enough to insure one.

I completely agree with TubbyTommy. It's harsh, but you have to be scrupulously honest with your insurance company. Remember they're there solely to make money for themselves, so will use any excuse possible to avoid paying out.

You need to declare every modification. Even having a roof rack made by Citroen on my Citroen van is considered to be one. That's how picky it is.

Very sorry.

To be honest I want to declare all mods, ive pumped a lot of money Into my car over the year and is looked after well and serviced evry 3 months, ive worked so hard to get a scoob, I just hope a insurance company sees this and not categorise me into the "boy racer" group.

I might stick to my traders for another year if I cant find one cheaper or if not il just get my dad insured on the scoob and il get insure on my old astra for a year and earn a no claims bonus

Im only 20 and have a standard blob sti and it will be £2000 fully comp for when I renew my insurance this July.

Adrian flux and the likes will not insure young drivers and for good reason, they said I had to be 25 or older. I am with Admiral as thats who I have been with since I was 17 with 4 years no claims this year coming up.

So with no ncb I would assume you have no chance this year...

The best things to do it add your parents if they have any ncb...
