I'm 21 and in need of Insurance help
Hi..
I'm hoping some of you guys can give me advice, my brother & Mum have both have had scoobys, Luke still does (scooby0809) and and I'm now after one myself.
I'm 22 in July, I have 3 years no claims bonus, no points however I do have a DR10 which was honestly wrongly coded as I was not driving at all, I was actually in possession of my car keys and standing by my car at a friends party, engine tuned off and cold, I was breathalysed and charged, great !! Anyway that can't be changed and that was in 2009..
I'm hoping I can get myself a Uk Turbo around a 2000 plate possibly newer depending on funds but was wondering what the Insurance is likely to be. I've looked on the comparison sites and they are just crazy so I signed up on here and hope you can at least give me a really rough idea..
This is not my 1st fast-ish/costly car I have a 2.8 MK III Capri, so over the last few years I have learnt some self control and realised its not worth smashing up something you work hard to get..
Any advice greatly appreciated..

Hi mate.
I've just insured mine V2 Sti (import) with Graham Sykes.
All mods such as roll cage, alloys, exhaust, suspension, brakes, rear lights (Sti ones) etc. declared and paid £960 fully comp with 2 years no claims bonus.
I'm 30 and policy is on my wife's so I'm an additional driver.
Give them a call. Definitely worth it !

what i did when i was about 21 was look through a max power mag and phone them all up. or subaru mag.
there are loads of companies out there. but which one is best for you is down to you to find.
i was with a company called premium choice insurance. they was not to bad.

Thing is that I've had 4 years no claims but I had a little incident on the road last year and have lost 2 years at the end. Lost control on the car and hit a tree which caused my passenger some minor back and neck injury. He made a claim...
After that I decided to STOP doing "boy racing" on public roads and use the car on the track instead.

Till last week (renewal time) I was with Churchill. Last year I paid over £900 fully comp without declaring modifications at all. Renewal quote they've sent me (after claim was made) was £1800 !!!! Done another quotation online telling about roll cage only and got a quote of £1300
Graham Sykes was over £300 cheaper with all mods declared so I'm really happy with that :-)

Was In the same boat as you, exactly the same in fact minus the conviction but also 22 in July . No specialists would touch me, A plan was a no.
Only mods are an exhaust. 2003 STi. Nobody wanted me except on the comparison sites where I found a quote from Admiral for a grand. Suitably chuffed.
