sti sat on road not used insurance
ive got a 95 sti and the issue is this :
i need a car to go to work every day so ive got a little polo which is already insured and sorted which i use daily.ive just bought a sti which came up,its currently sat 200 miles away on a raf base where my brother is,of course i want it home,it needs painting and a few over bits doing to it so i will not be driving it proberly for the next 6 months, BUT........i have no drive so it would have to just sit on the street, yes my street is very quiet nothing ever comes down it but its still the public road i guess so it would need insuring but with no drive iam stuffed??
my question is, can you get insurance for it just to sit on the road,it will not drive a mile as iam be doing the work, and before anyone says put it in a bodyshop i cant afford that so iam doing it all myself on a budjet
thanks olly

As above, if it's in contact with a public road, it'll need to be taxed, insured and MOT'd.
The alternative's are to have it sat on a trailer... but then you're screwed if it gets stolen.
Or rent a lock-up somewhere which might work out cheaper than tax, test and insurance.
You need to remember though that under the current regulations if it's taxed it needs to be insured anyway so it'll have to be SORN'd if it's not insured regardless of where it's kept.
