Default Insurance shock. Advice:

I've decided to buy a Yaris as a cheap second car and checked Confused for prices.
Third Party only was £460
Third Party, Fire and Theft was £390
and Fully Comprehensive is £250 (Each time the insurers were different companies.)

Now how does that work?

Don't assume, as I did that Third Party was going to be the cheapest.

Most insurers don't like people who opt for third party only or TPFT, they see them as undesirables I guess.

People assume fully comp will be more and therefore not bother looking. phone direct line or a company NOT on those sites and you should get it even cheaper.

I've recently had a quote for modified car insurance from Greenlight Insurance and the final price was nearly three times the quote that I got from the AA through moneysupermarket.com for the same cover?

Not impressed Greenlight, I'm afraid to say!
