I paid £660 fully comp in 2010 on my uk330. Fully comp etc im 30 with 8years N.C.B. My renewal with same company came through at £2300. I phoned and asked why and was told insurance gone up and asked if anything had changed. I said yes im a year older and have one more years N.C.B. After shopping around i went with sky insurance this year £750 with protected no claims and breakdown cover.

Hi InitialD,

Flux are one of the best firms in the country for specialist, performance or modified cars.

I'm not sure as to how they view Subaru Impreza models though, as several of the posts on here seem to indicate that they are not keen on the model.

As sonic93 and Chocolate_o_brien say, that does seem a bit high (bearing your record and that you live in surrey in mind).

You need to "phone a fwend" (apologies to chocolate_o_brien for the plagiarism) or you could give us a try.

We are modification friendly, have good technical knowledge in relation to the model and the potential modifications.

If you get 10 minutes spare when your renewal hits your mat, we'd be happy to help

Kind regards

Tony

Hi InitialD,

Age is usually helpful to Motor Insurance premiums and 25/30/40 were the original milestone ages.

Turning 30 will bring additional Insurers into play, which is helpful.

With performance cars, Underwriters tend to look at driving experience, length of licence, NCB and your record.

This will make a bigger difference than anything.

Insurers track claims and group age/licence lengths together when assessing the chances of receiving claims. You tend to find that average accident frequencies and the chance of having the 'hero' style colossal claims reduces with maturity and experience.

Kind regards

Tony

Im just looking somehow into insuring my scoob 21.1 year ncb,95 wrx,no perfomance mod's (Yet)

With winter coming up quicker than expected as always. a 2nd car for my mum and me would be a massive plus point. mums got over 10 years ncb. VG postcode (rural)

Would you possible be able to quote main driver (mother) and me as a named driver. very limited mileage (petrol cost's and running costs) plus keeping my own seat leon insured in my own name.

Any pointer's or help mate be great

Try admiral multicar for both. Specialists couldnt even come close to my automatic renewal price.

So you want to insure an Impreza under your mums name with you as a second driver?

Not a chance.

This would be a new purchase, but i had a 300bhp turbo 2000 which i had to sell when i got made redundant about two years ago. The new one is fitted with a tracker (not sure wot one cud find out) and will be kept in a locked garage. I've got 6 years ncb and have been drivin for 6.5 years. To be honest i wasnt expectin it too be cheap..just not over two grand thats too much like.. Could you provide a quote at all then?

Who are you insured with? Keith Michaels?

What was the reason for cancelling it?

Pm me you details and i'll have a look, but with a 2 year break since your last Impreza it isn't going to be easy, as most insurers we use won't quote
