Default does age matter?

hi all im looking to get my first scooby in the next few weeks my question is will it make any difference to my insurance if i wait till im 24? i have 4 years ncb at the mo but im 24 next month so would it make sense to wait? thanks for and advice or help

As above, not really. Most insurers look for 25+ years olds on imprezas.

I am 21 at the end of the month and I have only managed at best 12 quotes on those compare websites managing to get fairly decent prices lol am jus gonna have to pay lol

what do you class as fairly decent though tom? the cheapest i have found is £3600 my other question is do companys on here such as sky insurance, a-plan and keith micheals only insure people over 25? would a specialist company be cheaper? thanks

Most specialists will only be able to quote for 25+

If you are 23/24 and have owned the car for 2 yrs+ without any claims it's sometimes possible, but won't be cheap

The cheapest I have managed to get is about £2600 third party fire and theft and about £4000 fully comp

Sounds about right.

That's why there aren't many 21 year olds driving these cars

I am only just 24 and have owned my RB5 WR Sport (PPP) for only 6 months and pay £800 a year with admiral, pretty good I recon! Admiral seem to be pretty good with young drivers, before the impreza I was paying £420 a year on a mk2 Ibiza gti 2.0 16v cupra and my housemate of the same age was paying £700 for an RX8!

just wish i could get the price down really annoys me they can just put prices up as and when they like

im 21 just got a hawkeye sti and paying 1700 fully comp.

added my mum and dad as named drivers dropped it by over a grand and put excess up to 500

£1100 for 3 points? Is that really what you have to pay? The penalties dont seem to fit the crime if thats the case.
