Try Keith Michaels and A Plan.
Wouldn't even bother with the meerkats, Go Despair or the other such sites who advertise to find you the best quote.
If you are already insured then good luck getting your money back!

I've been with performance direct for around 5 years now.The Evo I had was £366 with them and only went up by a few quid each year.
When I got my scoob I spent literally 3 solid days on all the comparison sites and tried all the import insurance companies with wildly varying results.Adrian flux was one of the highest quotes, and in the end I found that performance direct was cheapest when quoted through money supermarket.com.
Going directly to performance direct was £100 more expensive than using them through money supermarket.
I asked them why but they couldn't explain it.In the end it came to £492 with protected no claims.
Danny.

When my STi was standard no one could beat Admiral or Elephant (the same company but give different quotes) for me.
Once modified it was Keith Michaels that got me the best deals, with A-Plan coming in a close 2nd.

Welcome
Now for the bad news
Ok im going to slate you a little here, but why the hell didnt you check the insurance first? Anyone who has any idea when buying a car checks the cost of its insurance, cant afford the insurance then dont buy the car
Also as you have been on your dads insurance, you will be lucky if most of the insurance co's on here will insure you, most like atleast one year in a performance car (on your own insurance), then there is the age factor, how old are you?
Welcome to a (previously) group 19, highly desirable to theives, car (now ranges to group 50?).
Your 2 options are to pay the 2700 quid or sell the car, its that simple unless you can get it down a couple of hundred quid

I'd recommend Tom Butler - Scofield Insurance - got me a great price for a very moddied STI - i'd not bother with many others as i'm still waiting for a call back from some of the other recommended insurance companies! - useless

Pm me your details and i'll see what i can do.
With no NCB and only just buying the car the amount of companies i can use will be restricted, but will have at least 1 company who will quote.

And if you come to claim...your policy will be voided.

With regards to the value,
You can say what you like but unless it's an agreed value you'll only get book price.

Well its not fraud. Need to get your facts straight before you make allegations like that ina public forum. Value is your valuation thats not fraud. If you read the top of a log book it will state this is not proof of ownership, i bought the car in 09, and have only had it in my name for past 3 months as the car has been in the family. Regarding whre you keep it, i can park it on the street rather than my garage if it keeps the premium down. It was actually a 210 pound drop just for saying its kept outside my house on the street rather than in my garage. So dont get accusing people of fraud before knowing the facts as some perceive that as a serious allegation. Not to mention its against the law
