Been trying for ages to get a quote, well since last wednesday! some one always answers the phone but puts me through to a answering machine, leave a message, wait a day nothing, iv filled out 2 online forms, still no reply not even a confirmation Email? just tried again on the phone he said Gary who deals with scoobynet is on the phone ( fair enough ) so I told him im desperate for a quote and he tried to help me, we got most of the way through but then he said he will have to call me back tommorow im not happy i just want to drive my new car I phoned Adrian flux 10 mins later and i have a quote sitting next to me, I could go with it but,
1 KM has a top rep on here for service and
2 I want them to beat it lol .

Maybe try a polite PM on here but understand he does have a life outside his job.

I'm sure any reason he hasn't got back to you are genuine. I know of no other insurer who works as hard as Gary!!!

I had the same problem last year and ended up going elsewhere.
This year I managed to get hold of him and have now switched to KM.
He's a busy man.

Lee - i am snowed under at the moment, so Jeremy is dealing with your quote (were waiting to hear back from the underwriters. Unfortunately your postcode and occupation is making a bit more difficult than usual)

He uses the same schemes as me, but normally does Evo's and Skyline's. He knows his stuff, and has owned a STI Type R and several Evo's.... so knows his cars aswell.

All to do with risk. Example:

A mechanic is more likely to like their cars and fiddle with them, enjoy them.

A librarian probably uses a car to get simply from A to B.

Bit blatant but that's my take on it. Sure Gary will comment when he has a couple mins spare

Certain occupations have higher claim stats than others.

Also, using a courier as an example... they worry you'll use your car for work if your van breaks down.

Other way round for me. Gary got back to me, but Adrian Flux who couldn't beat the quote, said they were gonna call back, once they got it cheaper. They never did.

You'd certainly need a bigger boot!!!

It's more the couriers who have one package to deliver quickly i think they tend to worry about.

Unless they have business use stated they arent covered anyway so why would they worry? If they have business use then they have paid the premium for it,so why should it make a difference?

Also I dont really understand using stats to work out higher risk occupations. Does it show regular patterns? If you look at stats there will always have to be one type of occupation that has more claims at any particular time. Unless the occupation would have a direct and obvious link to the risk why should it effect a premium? What other occupations are high risk?

The insurers know more about higher risks for certain occupations, and the reasoning behind it.

I do have a list of the higher risk and excluded occupations. Can't remember them all, but things like licenced trade (pub/nightclub workers), debt collectors, couriers, sportsmen/women, divers (no idea why), celebs, paparazzi, etc...

My insurance (teacher) was around 40% less than a doctors. I thought that doctors were supposed to have low insurance. Maybe they think that they may need to rush to incidences/emergancies, who knows but it doesnt seem to be in perspective.
