Default STi Hawkeye PPP Insurance

Hey,

Am looking for insurance help. Just got my renewal from Direct Line and they are quoting £2100! Am a girl and have 9 years no claims, no convictions, the car has every bit of security under the sun, stored in a secure underground carpark. Do 8000 miles at the most a year.

Am claiming the PPP pack as a modification as they don't have anything to put the PPP pack on.

What am I doing wrong?

Any tips or companies to try?

Thanks

Will do! Thanks. Is really funny as I paid £1100 last year and they put it up by a grand!

Just got me renewal with Elephant down to £697 on my Hawkeye STI with PPP. They also said they had no PPP listed, so put the mod down as en engine chip and modified exhaust system.

I do average of about 12k miles a year, I'm 30 years of age and the cars parked on the drive overnight. Plus the missus is also listed to drive and between us we've declared the 2 claims we had in 2005 and 2006 and also my SP30. 7 Years protected NCB also included.

Pretty chuffed with that to be honest. Keith Michaels bettered it by £50 but couldn't do anymore than that, so I've opted to leave it with Elephant.

Cheers for that. Called Direct Line again today with the details of the mods you sugested (plus the grill) and they quoted £1200 this time round.

I tried Gary today but he wasn't in. Will try again tomorrow plus called the dealership we got the car from and they suggested A-Plan.

Thanks everyone for all the help! Got quite a few quotes and have been busy.

Ended up going with Adrian Flux in the end as we were just blown away by the service! The lad we spoke to was just tops and all sorted in 10 minutes!

£1500. Still high but all the insurance companies class where we live as high risk. Checked if I had it at my parents on their drive in the north and it was half that.

Oh well.

PS Not sure if anyone else has heard this but when I phoned up Direct Line again they are now saying they do not insure modified cars.

Tried quite a few times and he wasn't in or was out to lunch. One time they put me through to an answer machine and I left a message for a call back but nothing.

Shame as would have liked to see what quote I could have got. Also, the Mr called A-plan and they said they would call him whatever the quote came back a but we never heard back.
