Subaru Insurance at 19
Hi,
I currently have a subaru sport and when im 19 i want to buy a "proper subaru". Ive been getting quotes and the cheapest i can get is around £3000 has anyone got a subaru turbo insured at 19 or know of any companies that might insure me.
Thanks.

I know it sounds harsh but I would put the money you would spend on inflated insurance and buy an even better car when you are 21.
Patience will save you thousands.

Here's a few words for you.... dont bother!
Get a cheap car to start off with, wait till your 21-22 then get a scooby (saying that, im 22 now and cant get insurance on a JDM classic :O - saying that, i am driving a 2.0 Focus)

If you really want an Impreza turbo just go for it. I bought one when I was 20 and insured it TPFT for about £1750. I wasn't really earning much either so I really had to watch what I was doing with my money to make sure I had enough for anything that might need doing.
I kept it for almost a year and a half. Had a great time with it and I wouldn't change the way I did things for the world.
I live in quite a low risk area for insurance companies though, and had 3 years no claims at the time. So I suppose you might not be able to get insurance as cheap depending on your circumstances?
It was a great time...good car, nice bird. Better to regret something you've done than something you haven't.

Its a tough call, I thin k if you really want to drive a turbo and you can afford the £57 odd quid a week to insure it then get the turbo.
At 19 I would have killed myself in an Impreza turbo, but thats not the point.
I thin £3k is going to be as good a price as you can get. It does get better, now I am the ripe old age of 31 I pay £400 ish quid fully comp, Mrs on the policy etc.
My advice would be enjoy being 19, however that manifests itself for you, If its paying £57 a week to insure a car then do that, If its getting an Impreza sport and spending the money on girls and beer then do that.

Adrian flux have always been pricey for me. Just try compare sites, but phone to make sure as some of the quotes don't seem to apply!!

I would be carefull if I were you. If you buy one and something goes wrong how will you afford to get it sorted ?? I am just getting my bottom end on my car changed because the crank bearing went also you have to keep up weekly maintenace on the car, its not like you can park it up and forget about it. Also the fuel costs, trust me I am putting £270ish a month in mine another thing, to get T/P/F/T or COMP insurance you need a tracker otherwise its third party only !! wait till your older and get a nice one. Just a bit of advice

it should be possible at 19 but will be tough and very expensive, same as timwinner i reckon if i'd had one at 19 i'd have had a massive accident, just wasn't responsible enough, hadn't seen enough on the road to realise what might happen.
Probably better to hold on a few years, but if you really have to do it good luck! of the mainstream brands admiral seem to be the most willing to take risky drivers on at the minute

3k would actually be a pretty damn good quote believe it or not!
If you've got that money for insurance, good on ya; if it would mean you'd have to buy a heap to afford the insurance, save yourself the grief, keep the sport for another couple of years (or swap it for something in a similar insurance group) and come back for a quote on the turbo when you're 21 with a good few years NCB under your belt! Quotes will be more sensible then.
Probably not the answer you wanted. Sorry.
If you want my honest advice: 19 is too young to be pishing away money on performance cars; spend it on the important things in life at that age: beer and ladies!

Its a uk car, I found the policy and the exact figure is £338 for the 10 month booster they do, Give them a go online, they are pretty much the cheapest insurance company around.

£3k, on a scoob at 19, whats the value of the car and how old is it?
what cars do your mates drive?
£3k could be you a nice 2nd hand Submarina Rolex that won't lose value over the next few year

I am 26 and with the RAC, I was shocked when they came back with the price £684 fully comp,
Once again I purchased my RA in 2004, that would make me 21, It was 3500 fully comp, but like the guyz are saying you really need to build up to a turbo car, N/A are a completely different drive,
B4 I had my Turbo I started of with RWD cars, BMW to be exact, started of with the 316 then 318, 320 then a 325se motorsport, once I new I could handle a turbo I went to the scoobs,
From experience I wouldn't change n e thing, it did me good to be honest,
Be wise, don't rush and make the rite decision.
