hi, im Lloyd.

22y.o.a and i live in south wales.

I currently drive a fiesta st and im looking to make a step up, a big step up!
(i have a full time permenant job. so getting a scooby is not a day dream.)

scoobys have always caught my eye, the aggresive look and the noise most make.

the reason i want to sell the st is im fed up of spending money on it and it not performing, unless i bought the supercharger kit, 4k = 230bhp?

i have found a scooby i like, blue, 53plate, 51k miles, 2.0 turbo, 1 owner for £4.999

phoned my insurance and i thought my age may have been a factor but no it was the fact it was a scooby? they dont touch the car.

so any help with insurance?

site looks great some totally stunning cars not jealous honest *cough cough*

thanks.

bowen out.

Welcome to SN.

Insurance can be a nightmare for under 25s; some companies just don't want to touch group 19/20 cars full stop! You should be a able to get a half decent quote though, especially if you have a couple of years NCB.

Please head over to the insurance forum for advice on this matter. I'll leave the post here for a bit, so people can say "hi and welcome" though.

Try Rob at A plan Or Gary at Kieth Michaels- if they can't help you; you're probably going to struggle to be honest!

As a general note of caution, scoobies may be cheap to buy at the mo, but they are NOT cheap to run. Make sure you look into running costs before taking the plunge!

Welcome mate. Insurance is always a killer, i was 19 when i insured my uk turbo classic and couldnt find anything on the net for less then 3000, i spoke to NFU who i have my insurance with since i was 17 and they quoted me 2200, so i took that. The imports are also alot more to insure again so bare that in mind when lookin about!

Alrite mate

I have recently bought my bug eye wrx i'm 23 now but at the time was 22. I go through Bell and have a flexi bell policy, i have recently renewed it and it cost me £1400 but i have 3 points. A good thing to do is put your mum as a second driver, it brought mine down by nearly £400!!

Hi lloyd got a great price off gary at Keith Mitchell's I'm 27 with nearly no no claims and managed to get a stunning price for me and the missus to driver my 2.0 turbo blob eye. He give me a price of £875 fullycomp where a plan couldn't insure me because of my no claims bonus even though i have been driving for 10 yrs but was a named driver on my wifes policy for a long time due to a ban hence why my no claims are non existent but gary sorted all this out and i took out my policy yesterday with a very big smile on my face as confused could only come up with admiral at £1275 so i saved a packet just proves if you spend the time looking great deals are out there hope this can help you if gary can't try a company called high performance or insurance factory who specialise in young drivers and high performance vechicles the number is (08700270834 insurance factory)hope this helps and get your self a scooby it will really surprise you and the scooby people are excellent catch you later phil.

just make sure you can afford the running costs too mate- 23 mpg, whooping road tax, dear tyres etc etc.

buying a car is easy- running it is something else.

hope it works out though
