Wow does this sound right?...
Got a quote for a 2003 Subaru WRX STI for £2500, but that's okay, it's the price for modifications that got me, £400 for alloys up to £1000 in value, £300 for a lower more than 20MM ect...
Does this sound right, how much are you modifications?
Thanks

Pretty much. Depends who you are getting the quotes off.
So you buy an 03 STI put some posh alloys on it and lower it a bit and its £3200 to insure?
F*ck that!

What Claire said mate. If you have a little experience with performance cars, the specialists on here are generally unbeatable. Remembering it isn't just the lowest price you want either, I like to know that any mods are covered like for like and the claims service is top notch too.
Personally I'm currently covered by Keith Michaels after Gary Moulson knocked my premium down by around 60% percent last December

Insurance is crazy.
Im 28 5 years no claims and the cheapest qoute ive had for a 03 sti is £1500 tpft.
Strange as i current pay £600 for a 03 M3 csl. Got to ask myself if the subaru is worth it

Is worth shopping around lots. I'm talking standard cars, no mods. Moley (Keith Michaels) could not get a UK Turbo down to under £1100ish with my Mrs on it. (She's 25, only driving for 4 years!). Shopped around and the likes of Admiral will insure one for £580. They would insure an 02 STi for under £700. Is worth researching reputatons, and whether people actually get paid out! No good having insurance from 'uncle bobs ltd' for £400/year if they don't pay out a bean when you wrap it up!
