should be able to mate, or hire one and charge back to garage. do you know the people at garage? are they willing to pay for it themselves then claim back?

Hi 332tur,

Sorry to hear about your car.

If the car has been damaged whilst in their custody and they are deemed responsible, you would be able to hire a car and claim the outlay back from the garage on the basis that this represents a cost that they have exposed you to by damaging/writing off your vehicle.

In some cases they would provide you a courtesy car themselves, but most motor trade Insurers do not have the same facility in place as mainstream Insurers catering for the public at large.

Kind regards

Tony

Hiya 332tur,

If you are fully comp, don't you have legal cover on your policy.
If you do, contact them for some advise, as you've paid for it & doesn't cost you anymore.

332tur,

Not much help, but sorry to hear of your predicament. That sounds bloody awful and I hope you get it sorted.

I've heard a number of nightmare stories about garages (80 mile test drives and the like ) but none quite as bad as that.
