Apparently it is due to increased claim costs. (ie - insurers paying out small fortunes for PI claims)
Even mine went up £30 this year, but was still a lot cheaper than elsewhere

don't worry gaz, you were till the best by far........
had a-plan ringing for weeks and the best they did was 770 with the same insurers!!!
the lad that spoke to me was saying " yeah, i've heard about this gary moulson, can't get near him, must have some screw going!?!? i'd bite his hand off at that price"

Well maybe not so much this year, but that's more down to current economic conditions and how they have chosen to invest their money.
I worked for one of the big uk insurers for a year and that was enough ... I think if a lot of their customers knew what went on in the background they would be quite upset. The market is not as competative as first meets the eye.

I just got my renewal through from KM and it looks like its gone up also.
Thats after covering just 4.5k miles and not a single incident or claim.
And it has just come through 8 days before its due.
I will be on the phone today. Hopefully Garry can sort me out again this year.

Well just thought I'd post up a little update.
I called Gary again last night and after a short conversation he has yet again managed to save me even more money.
So another good job by Gary and KM
Thank you Sir

Mine was going up until i made the actual call to Gary. A-Plan really tried but couldn't quite offer same cover (although they found a cheaper policy it wasn't any use to me - see other thread, won't let me edit the title.)
Anyway, great service from Gary again and now down to £575 all mods declared. Not too happy with the excuse of the credit crunch coming from insurers though, they've just been proped up with billions of our cash so i feel like i've already paid!
5t.

Fortunately as a broker we use several insurers, so we always shop around for the best deal trying to get the price down for you
