Just had a response from them - they wouldn't quote for a standard WRX and also wouldn't cover a Manchester postcode.

Renewal from A Plan was same as last year, so think I'll stick with them anyway.

This has been done a billion times before folks. If Greenlight choose not to insure for given particulars than that is their decision..... you can hardly blame them if stats show high risks for certain details, and they are unable to offer cover.

For some to state they have negative feedback just because they won't quote, is a tad unfair.

If you don't like what you are being told, try another insurer...... plain and simple. The service they do provide (once you are covered) is excellent.

What he said.

Why advertise a company "established by petrol heads for petrol heads" when they wont quote.

Webby, isnt this section for feedback, even if it is negative?

powerman1,
I can only intelligently assume something about you is high (or higher) risk. I am not an insurance specialist, but there must be a reason.

I have been insured with Greenlight for my highly modified Subaru for years now. I have a wealth of performance car experience and live in a low risk part of the country.

Who knows why they are unable to quote for you, but I know plenty of people that are insured with them.

Just because you can't get insurance through them, does not mean anyone else can not or does not.

They must get business, as why would they keep paying to advertise...... thats just me looking at it from a pure business point of view.

Anyway.... I am not here to speak for GL, but just thought it worth mentioning that they do allow cover for highly modified Subaru's.
