Default Recommend A-Plan Insurance

To anyone needing a quote for insurance, the best price I got by far was from A-PLan.

I'm 28 with 6 years no claims and a slightly modded UK Turbo 2000 (1998). Got insured for under £600 which was a big saving on the year before (just under £1000 fully comp).

I spoke to Claire who I managed to call Laura (don't ask). She was really friendly and eventually forgave me for calling her someone else.

yep, just done mine with them, and again saved me a fortune. Exhaust mod was no problem either. I think what makes a big differencve is that they know the cars.

And there will be others that have made claims without any problems.... don't judge on isolated incidents, best to get more info from existing customers if you can.

Come renewal time i'll be phoning all the usual suspects, seems the two active posters from the insurance industry arn't the greatest supporters of the other advertiser tho .

i have a serious bone to pick with them, i never renewed my policy with them after the 1st year due to a different company offering a a qoute the same, but with bonus prtection thrown in too. I have now recieced a letter from a finance company and aplan telling me they have canceled the policy and want the settlement paid up to date.

never took the second years policy, let alone a loan on the premium. looks like they got 3 months payments, and only kicked when i changed banks and obviously i canceleed all direct debits on the old account and reinstated the ones that needed doing.

may be a perfectly reasonable excuse for this and i may well get my money back ASAP with them, will see and i will certainly be here in a few days to let people know the outcome of my case here

Exclamation

I've had several policies with Aplan and they are very competitive. At least they bother to return calls, unlike my experience of you Moley.

no idea for aplan with regards to the claiming, but if i had an insurance company and i undercut aplan by 100 quid, i would then be the bollox wouldnt i. But what if when it came to claim time i messed about.

I went with a broker premier insurance and i found out that the car i thought i had insured wasnt the car that was insured. Certificate had my car details on, but that wasnt the details that had been passed on to highway, which i found out when i needed to make a claim. Guess what, premier were also cheap.....

its a factor that HAS to be ttaken into consideration, no one want to have to make a claim, but its always possible and with high performance cars, more likely than most that you will end up making a claim, so it does need to be considered when handing over our hard earned dont you think.

so all views good and bad need to be looked at on an individual basis and let potential customers make there own minds up.

Guys..

For the record (& I have stated this before) A-Plan are a Very Good broker, with around 50 extremely well presented offices throughout some really nice parts of the country.

They are an established broker (35+ Years) who are extrememly professional and a cut above most high street brokers, very well presented and well organised.

The office that you would be dealing with in relation to specialist business is their Thatcham branch, who are set up aside from the usual branches to cater for these risk profiles from a central location by distance selling.

I had heard that they were up for sale from an industry source, but this would usually just be a change in shareholders and shouldn't impact upon the service they offer you.

Hope this helps..

Kind regards & Happy new year to all.

Tony
