Default 6 points a problem

Hi all, I got my insurance due in Nov and have foolishly picked up 6 points recently. Generally is 6 points going to increase my premium substantially? I heard the real killer was at 9 points!! After all anyone can get unlucky twice....

In my experience :-

3 points = no change
6 points = £200
9 points = £ almost double what i was paying e.g £550 up to £1000 ( this was with a few mods chucked in though)

Now points free thank god and all of mine were plain old SP30's for 87, 91 & 93 mph on the motorway ( two of them after 2300 hrs on a Sunday night )

I have 6 points - and am paying £495 fully comp (9 years no claims, 35 year old driver) on a MY98 UK Turbo 2000 - You will probably find some insurance comapines won;t touch you - but it doesn't necessarily mean paying the earth.

Absurb as it may seem, Kwik Fit. They were cheapest, plus they didn't want a tracker fitted.

I went through moneysupermarket.com to get to them, and I don't know if this makes your quote lower, but a direct link is:
