Default WRX 300 drivers - Who are you insured with?

First years insurance is about to run out on my Impreza WRX 300. I've just had the renewal through from Elephant and it has gone up fom £400 to £735
This is despite me being 38 with 19 years no NCD, no accidents and no convictions. Only issues I can see is car has STI high level rear spoiler & I live in an SS postcode (same as last year).

One of the reasons I bought the WRX 300 was its very reasonable insurance compared to other WRXs & STIs but this no longer seems to be the case.

Who do you insure your WRX 300 with, what's the approximate cost and have you renewed recently because you maybe in for a shock?

thanks

Default WRX 300

I renewed my WRX 300 insurance last week with elephant. They quoted me £560 and I negotiated it down to £450. I also have STI rear spoiler and 18 alloys. 7 years NCD, 3 points, self & spouse, 10k miles per year, garaged, KW postcode.

Suggest you shop around.

Spoke to Elephant and the guy couldn't explain why my premium had gone up £330+ since last year. Said I would not be renewing with them and they immediately dropped it £60. Not much compared with the overall increase. Told them to poke it and will start ringing around.

Eventually after trying around 20+ insurance companies I switched to Keith Michaels. Another for Gary Moulson (0208 642 7868).

The next best quotes I got came from A-Plan, MoreThan then Admiral - with only £50 between them.
