Cool

My broker (Catteralls) told me that AXA don't want Impreza business anymore and that was why my renewal premium was twice!! what I paid last year (£503 - £1047!!!!!)Well they sure as hell aren't getting my business!

I am now insured with Norwich Union Direct. MY98. Scoobysport mid section and backbox, driving lights and 4 pots declared. Me 31, wife 30, no points, no accidents. Garaged. SDP & commuting.

£584.87.

This includes protected bonus, courtesy car (for theft as well), and legal expenses.

CF,
You've got to try Tesco Insurance. They are a sister company of Direct Line who I am currently with as they undercut everyone last year but renewal is circa £850 squid! Tesco Insurance is able to come in around the £600 mark depending on Protected NCB, Green Flag etc. 35 yrs full NCB MYOO with SS DP, Long Life BB, PIAAs, OZs etc etc. Very keen and competitive. I'm not on any commission so give them a try them too.

Hope this helps

Tesco do require a Tracker. I got a good quote from them, £780, next best (worst) were: Privilege - £890 (+ tracker), Adrian Flux - £1,250, Eagle star renewal - £1,581!

Tesco allowed my Mods, seats, exhaust, strut brace. Reckoned I 'd get a tracker now as next year I think everyone will insist on them.

Cheers

Definitely try Tesco.

AXA renewal for this year was £889
Tesco quote £609

Haven't been able to get it any lower than this

MY99 5 dr Turbo
Only mods are quickshift & black diamond discs
Me and wife 34yrs
no claims/conv

Tesco didn't require tracker

ThinClient -- have you actually taken up the policy with Tesco? It's only then that they mention the tracker (I specifically asked them at the quote stage and they said 'no tracker needed', then when I went to take up the policy they said 'tracker required')

might be worth speaking to Tom @ Schofields or Jeremy @ Randal Pace. They are running a scheme for scoobs, might be able to get a decent quote, they do me on my 94 modded jap import, does require a tracker though (well mine did)

Try Barclays on 0870 600 1414, they will match/beat your best quote, r mod friendly, don't require tracker and will give a lower excess. No connection just a happy customer (after calling at least 20 different insurers/brokers.)

cheers, James
