Nice one, Nerd
I will keep this in mind. Remember to scan General Questions forum from time to time.
PS How about a Scoobynet discount? <<Thinks....Not likely after reading some of the posts on here >>

Hi,
I'm thinking of selling my impreza turbo because i'm scared of the renual premium. Its not due until august, and it was approx 1200... last time I got cover.
I have just been quoted (from the same company) 10500, and the best I can get seems to be about 2000. Its a "W", 2000MY and is standard.
I am 22, 5 years NCB , 2 accidents (1 non fault), and 3 points in the last 5 years. I am also a member of the IAM (passed advanced driving test) Am I likely to be able to get it down to something realistic?
If you think you can sort this, then email me (mainmanning@hotmail.com), or phone me at home 01268 542781. (but quickly as it is due to go and I am currently sorting out another car)
cheers.

One thing you might be able to answer - Is there a list of good/bad post codes that you use to determine high risk areas. Is it limited to individual insurance companies or a shared database?
Thanks in advance,
Stefan

Welcome Nerd,
Always good to have some additional insurance assistance on the BBS...but why so shy about who you work for???
Stefan,
The postcode thing is something that differs from company to company depending on the experience (i.e. losses incurred etc) for that area. For instance Independent rate most of the MK postcodes as one of their highest rated areas....however Norwich Union rate is as a low area...
...basically it depends on the number of losses and costs (amongst other things)for a particular zone.
