Impreza Insurance at 19

Anybody 19 or a similar age?
Having learnt to drive on my dads MY97 Impreza Turbo at 17 I just can't wait to drive it again. It was a company car at the time, so insurance wasn't an issue, but it ran out just when I had passed, dammit!!
Now, coming up to 19 in April and with two years NCB, I was woundering if anybody of a similar age had received a reasonable quote, if any, before I go through that long and laborious process.
Any help appreciated
Thanks
David

Glad to see that Beaconsfield still has youth with vastly rich parents. A P1 for a 17th Birthday, bloody hell. Some of us have to work unbelievably hard in order to afford our machines. Anyway re: insrurance. I think you'll have a pretty hard time trying to get insured on a Scoob being below 21, most insurers like you to be over 30! Just to give you an idea, I am 25 have 4 years NCB, live in Surrey, park in a garage and do only 8,000 miles a year. My insurance comes out at £1100 for a P1.
Companies I can recommend to check out are;
Bell Direct
Adrian Flux
Tescos
Greenlight
I don't know who insures people under 21 out of these, give em a go. Also worth doing a search as this topic has been covered loads of times.

David,
I'm 26 and got a UK Impreza Turbo - in order for me to get cover I had to have a minimum of 3 years NCB, a tracker insured and it still costs me an absolute fortune!![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif)
Therefore I think you might have a problem getting insurance for anything less than £2.5k, as I was getting quoted £3k plus...
Out of interest I see a P1 every morning going to work and the driver does not look very old at all, would your friends initials be JB??

I'm 19 and recently got some quotes for Imprezas, I'm hopefully thinking of a 2.0 Sport, but the cheapest insurance i can get is approx £1200, Been looking at a more friendly 1.6 Coupe, I know, "Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding" but at 19, what am I to do. *Rum - couldn't sort me out on a sport for say.... £300??![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
I Really cannot understand insurance companies, I'm a named driver on a brand new Range Rover, and the total insurance for that is only about £800 FC??

Think its going to be costly....
I just bought a MY99 UK Turbo, I'm 25 with 5 years no claims and pay £735 fully comp through Adrian Flux, next cheapest quote was £840 from Greenlight then you were getting up at near to 1k.
I think the difference mods wise depends on the insurer. Direct Line etc are their own company and thus can just update their records whereas if you go through a broker they need to notify whoever your actual insurer is and thats where the admin charge comes from.....(correct me if I'm wrong though!!!!)

You're all wat out, 23, clean licence, 4yrs NCD. R reg uk turbo, Prodrive u/g (17", exhaust, chip etc, WRX spoiler), best quote, Endsleigh through Norwich Union £2470!!!, £400 excess! Fourth year no claims discount does not start till 18/04 so the charged me for 3 weeks insurance with 0 NCD until my Proof of NCD comes through, ironically my policy on the Rover coupe is with - NORWICH UNION!!! - f'in crazy they can't transfer the policy!!!. Tell u this though - worth every penny & if money is no object go for it!!

I have an impreza 1.6i and am only 18. its a 1995 scooby that cost me a mere £5000!!
but i am paying about £1500 a year for insurance. this is coming down in may when im 19. but i would try Endsleigh Insurance. I am a student and they give good quotes for young drivers.
oh, if anyone has any cheap parts up for sale then let me know. my car is in the process of having a serious makeover. so far 16 inch alloys and an STI front bumper.
