Tesco's and Barclays direct quoted me very cheap quotes for a uk car.

Went horribly wrong when i told them it was an sti 5 though - bugger.

I rang around 20 places to see what they could come up with, I ended up with Bell Direct.
UK car MY2000 31yo full ncb parked outside
£656 protected ncb. How does that sound?

Barclays say they will beat your renewal quote by anything from 1-100 quid. They wouldn't beat other quotes you have in writing though.

£540 protected 5yrs no claims 32yrs and 27yr old wife, no points, Swindon
Axa direct.
Directline beat that by £30 but They stipulate you have to have a tracker.

RAC Direct gave cheapest quote (2nd to Wensum Agency-Zenith) £390 FComp including up to £2.5K mods to bodywork/sound including silencer. But am 50+ with max no claims.

Lowest quote I've had is about 1200 from Bell Direct and Privlege for std brand new car with 17' alloys and scoobysport back box. 29yrs old 9 yrs ncb in North London.

After price with admiral went up from £480 to £1200, rang twenty companies and got price down to £685.Then after recomendation rang Frizzell direct who quoted £640.
Age 37 99model , no mods , garaged.

Just requested a quote from Barclays via their web site and e-mail.

Amazing.

Best I could get last year was Admiral at £521.

Barclays have just quoted £490 (with Scoobysport backbox).

Car: MY99, garaged in Dorset, tracking device
Me: Age 31 (plus wife 27), Full NCB, 0 pts

Not dreading the renewal date *quite* as much now.
