Just had a stonking renewal quote from Privilege, online:

MY99 5dr Turbo unmodded
29 years old
5yrs NCD
Fully comp, unprotected with legal cover

£410!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Planning to swap the exhaust out this year and get a remap, question is, what are they like for mods?

****e!!! Added £200 to my policy because of the high wing althoug i did get to declare my wheels aswell with no more of an increase (i think 2 aesthetic mods can be done for the same price) They wanted another £200 for the back box!!!!!! Although didn't charge anything for the STI interior (in a WRX)

Just called them, the quote on the phone was £530! £120 more than an online quote?! I could expect an increase of £140 to add the ss zorst +20bhp. Will keep shopping.

Try greenlight insurance .... Just had a great quote on a MY01 with TEK3, Full stainless Decat, 355mm brake kit, high spoiler, STi bonnet vent, Defi's, 18" wheels, WRSport grilles etc etc ........... £789 .... With the other half added to the policy, £829.

But I am going to keep looking.

Nate.

Edited to add Decat exhaust

Put my quote up from 800 online to 1130 cos I have godspeed brakes and a scoobysport backbox, had an arguement with them on the phone as they claimed the backbox would 'substantially' increase performance (I wish). In the end played A-plan against greenlight and got it for 800 from A-plan (38 full ncb, garaged, 3 points 1 no fault claim).

GreenLight, could not quote for me but obviously they will be far more competetive for many other people, as they have a specialist scooby insurance plan

I phoned me up and told em I was putting a WRSport BB on my bugeye. I claimed it was a Subura warranty approved part and essentially a like for like swop. The woman seemed fine with this but thing I'll call em back up and pay the full whack. This time I'll tell em that I have a "sports exhaust"

What do they say when you have decatted ? Do they class it as a change to the exhaust system ?

I dunno of they wil know what a dump valve is either . But I have hear they ain't too keen on strut-braces.....

Just got an excellent quote from them..... £610 MY00 UK Turbo, 27, 3 NCD

but

Why oh why do they insist on a Tracker????

I'm not coughing up for a tracker when I can go to the next company and pay a bit more but still save heaps comapred to tracker install/subscription....

Anyway, if my car gets stolen, I don't want it back!
