Default Spec C Insurance

After trying several of the comapnies recommended on hear (Admiral, Adrian Flux, A-Plan) who either say "what's the 'Spec C' mean" or try and charge the earth (>£1500 from Adrian Flux), Norwich Union quoted me happy : £820 fully comp including European cover.

Said they would just insure the Spec C as an import STi ...

I couldnt believe how cheap (relatively speaking) these are to insure. £190 on top of my recent policy for my UK STi (which had been cocked up anyway and was only down as a UK STi without the PPP).

Regards,
Shaun.

They really took the p155 out of me, they wanted over 2k fully comp protected and im 36, 3 points, full ncb (9yrs+) no accidents or claims etc, lowish risk post code, but as im up north they hammered me
So it looks like the 875 fully comp protected is what im going for instead (with panel filter and back box )

Tony

PS, they wernt even the cheapest on my pug, they wanted 322 tpft with 100 quid excess, ive got it down to 353 with 100 excess on fully comp! (215 tpft), shows you how much they rip you off

Tony

Insurance is a strange thing and something us mere mortals have no chance of comprehending.

But saying that I was over the moon with my quote...

34
0 points
7yrs NCB protected
I wouldnt of thought a particulary low postcode weighting
£930 protected, 10,000 miles pa, SD&P Including to and from work

Taking in to account a standard UK MY03 STi was £740

They class the Spec-C just as an Import Sti.

Regards,
Shaun.

I have no idea either ... I had my UK Turbo PPP with Direct Line for four years; £750/year for the last one. I paid an extra £100 to have the Spec C on for the last three months of the classic's policy but then they wanted £1600 for renewel. Pi55 Take! Even privelege (same company) only wanted £950.

A Flux also look good but they wouldn't insure me as I haven't had the car for a full year.
