Default Cheapest Insurance Company for imprezas?

Hi,

I've just reached that horrible time of re-newing my insurance for ymuk95 impreza turbo. I used to be insured with tesco's, but was wondering if anyone could give me any tips of other people to try, save me having to waist hours phoning around.

Cheers brent

I'm 21 - 3yrs no claims - low risk area - Cat 1 immobilser/alarm+monitor tracker - not modded - low mileage - garaged.

Try liverpool and Victoria - especially good if you have mods, or as in my case 'ahem' find that Thames Valley police like hiding in laybyes and taking photo's of my car

I used to be with tesco's, and at the time they were the best by far.

my re-newal with them is an offer of £1467?

Can anyone beat that? Privilege can they?

the other thing to remember about insurance is the state of your license - if your clean, that makes a massive difference. I remember seeing an article that suggested the actual financial cost of a 3 pointer was nearer £1,500, after the insurance inbcreases (remember they last for five years as far as insurers go)

Tesco are under 400 for me but want a tracker .. so Axa sounds good.

I would be surprised if you will find many others willing to insure you because of the age factor, I couldnt find anyone for me last year at 24.

My renewal came in from tescos this year and it went up, re apply online and if you get it cheaper online cancel your policy and take a new one out. Worked for me.

No probs . All - Tesco, Directline, Privelege, Churchill , Virgin and Sainsbury (probably some more) are all underwritten by Directline Group Services , therefore the quotes and conditions will be much the same ie no tracker , no cover. (I have nothing against them BTW )

I've been phoning around for some quotes on an old shape STi and the winner at the moment is Privelage easily by over £100.

Quoted £1100, need a tracker though....

I'm 30, 3 yrs ncb, 1 x sp30 and male

So far I've tried -

fastrack
adrian flux (wouldn't insure me because I haven't owned the car for a year)
tescos
directline
privelage

Dave.

Joolz,

Axa wouldn't quote me as I have a group 19 car (new WRX)
Motor direct said £1700 ... pished myself laughing ..

Elephant and Bell Direct are about £550 so that'll just have to do
