Liverpool Victoria won't insure my 1997 Impreza STI V-limited as they don't think it exists. (it's not on their computer)

Any suggestions?

Keep trying. They are notoriously variable at identifying imported car types.

Phone them up and offer to fax all your vehicle documents to them, surely they cant turn you away once they see it in writing that your car is what the paper work says it is.

They told me that the sti version 6 4 door did not exist on there computer's,only the type r 2 door so were quite happy to quote me under that for the 4 door,which came out at £795.00 f-comp.I bought a wrx 01 uk in the end which was the same price for f-comp.Not sure how that worked out as i thought import's where a lot more to insure.

Try asking to speak to one of their underwriters. When I got my MY03 last year Privilege couldn't find the WRX STi Type UK on their computer. They wanted to call it a Type RA. I ended up speaking to their underwriter and he went and found the details. The quoted premium came down by £400 as well.

Try calling again and speak to a supervisor, I had a similar problem with my 996 C2 they were telling me it was a C4 Cab, later spoke to someone else and got it sorted instantly
