I seem to be paying through the nose!!

I often read this forum just to see which companies are best/cheapest. But just recently i've been reading increasingly about people my age with FAR FAR better cars and paying perhaps 200-300quid more a year than me!!
I had a look around for insurance renewal quotes on my 1.1 fiesta and they are coming out at over 600quid STILL!! and this is just for TPFT.
Where am i going wrong??? Tried Elephant etc.
