elephant will not ensure WRX PPP
Yo all ..
THis post is related (I guess) to the one below where I am getting quotes. I have put this as a separate post as I think it needs to be.
I was trying to use the Elephant.co.uk online quote system for a WRX PPP. I was not sure what to add with repect to modifications to take into the account the PPP (after all its not an engine chip as such is it ?!).
Anyway - phoned up .. get this ...
whilst they will ensure mods to cars (which they list) they will NOT ensure the standard PPP pack. They have told me they will put this in writing. For some reason their underwriter does not like the prodrive pack ....
This seems very silly given that they will allow all sorts of mods (as you can see from their mod section). The word of warning comes here, if you have got a policy with them, have PPP BUT have simply used the mod section (by putting in engine chip and exhaust mod) - they tell me you will not be covered if they find out its the PPP kit ....
Totally crazy .... just thought you might want to know..
thanks
Mark

Very confusing, and I'm sure it's illegal too. How would they know it's the PPP? You could get a prodrive backbox and 3rd party re-map and get the maximum from their "11-25% power increase" range, and you'd have a faster car which is no longer covered by warrantee. Sounds like someone at elephant has their head up the elephant's ****.

I don't think they do online quotes, but give them a ring.
...or if you fill out some of your details online they can call you back...

Make sure you mention PPP and write it on the the proposal form which you sign, and check all the other details carefully, they made a number of silly mistakes with mine, (age, occupation, wife's age etc).
