I've had to give up on the scoobs due to insurance. I cant believe the quotes you guys are getting. I live in Northern Ireland and the brokers see this as a good enough reason to rip us off, even though the Government pays for any damage etc to person or property from civil disorder.
I had a couple of scoobs under my brothers trade policy then I went on my own. I was driving a 93 Mazda MX6 2.5 V6 which TPFT was £950. I decided Id love another scoob and had the money for the car so set about finding one. I found a 2dr Sti that I liked and could afford. Rang Elephant, who I was with, they wanted for the remaining 9 months on the policy an extra 3 grand. This despite I have a clean licence and 5 years NCB.
Count yourselves lucky you can get anything for under a grand.
