Wink YIPPEEEE!!!!!

After trying 27 different insurance companies over the last 2 weeks for my insurance renewal on a 2003 WRX with some mods, no one could come close to Elephant.

HOWEVER:

I have just tried Admiral and they managed to beat Elephant.co.uk, in spite of them being the same company. They beat their price by more than £130 - mega!!!

Thought I was getting nowhere until now!!!

Recommended - they say they specialise in performance cars as well as young drivers etc.

Good service too and unlike Elephant.co.uk a UK based call centre.

Brian.

I got my best quote with Admiral last year, had no problems so far, but there again, no reason too. As long as a decent quote this year at renewal time, think I'll stay with them.

John,

DO you have any MODS on your car - if so what are they like? Mine is insured with rear tints and exhaust change.

I am insured with them and have a performance exhaust system and alloys as the mods.

Ive got my insurance through Admiral, must say no one could match their price and I didnt need a tracker (schuuuuuuuuuuuuu)

One thing though, they charged me £14 to amend the policy when I put a cherished plate on the car.
bizarre

Elephant is £10 or if you do it online, £6.

Brian.

Anyone got any experiences of Admiral?

brian you might get cheaper car insurance if you told the companys your real age, and stop trying to bull$hit us all into thinking that you are still 29 LOL. dont you count the years that you went to school ?

Angry Admiral + MODS = ar**h**es

My other half was insured with Admiral until feb this year. When I got my Impreza I gave her my old car (Focus Zetec). I phoned Admiral to change her insurance to the Focus and told them it had different alloys and a stainless steel zorst. I was told that if the car was in an accident and theses mods were damaged then they'd be replaced with standard parts!!! I assumed because of that they wouldn't be charging any more than a standard car, I was wrong!! I was told that she'd be charged and extra 10% per mod!! After about 10 mins of questioning this I was no further forward!! After a 'chat' with the manager the policy is now with my employer (Norwich Union Direct ) with the mods covered for about £150 less!!!!

Don't want to worry anyone that's insured with Admiral or Elephant but it might be worth checking with them.

Cheers

All I got is Magnex backbox, dump valve and scoobyecu...not that they know about that, although I should have told them...so not sure how that would change the premium.

Congrats

Must admit that after the deal i got with admiral when they tried to sort out my claim I would never ever in a million years even contemplate using them again to insure my car. The service was terrible, the 'legal team' used on my case must have been flown in especially to make my life a living hell, they cost me 2 years of agro and expensive insurance because of their **** poor service. Countless sleepless nights, and eventually i sorted this claim myself through the small claims court, despite their 'legals teams' advice of "Give up Mr Fitzpatrick"

lol can you tell im bitter?

if you want any more info feel free to pm me, whenever i see admiral i get a red mist :P

The Mutz Nutz : could you have a look at my post on lea greens NUD thread from yesterday, and then let me know what you said to be allowed cover on a modified car? Hope you've got something in writing about the mods, from my experience NUD are a gang of fcukwits, who say one thing, then do another!

Yeah Yeah Yeah - If I was your age Stevie I would be paying about £3.29 per year fully comp and I would pay for it using my Shell Optimax Plus Points card too!!!
