I dont think it is tbh mate. reckon I could get it much cheaper, what I cant understand is people in similar circumstances as me (read the other threads) are insuring imports with tescos and LV for that sort of cash well why cant they insure me. seems strange. bit dissapointed tbh. still hasnt put me off but I dlike a bit more choice than just elephant.

Are you sure about that? Renewals are a different kettle of fish, but Liverpool Victoria for one only seem to be taking new business if you're 25 or older on a UK car, or 30 and older on an import.

I think you may have Tesco's confused with another insurer. They are an insurance company not a Broker so they won't search through numerous companies for a quote, they can only provide 1 quotation. They are also 1 of very few insurers that will accomodate young drivers. Give them a call again, i'm sure you're be able to obtain a quote.

Good luck

No, Tescos are not an insurance company. They're an affinity-based trading style of one of the mainstream providers. Direct Line group IIRC.

No, Tescos are not an insurance company
I apologise, I did'nt make my point clear enough, just trying to explain that they are not a broker, a single insurance policy provider, provided by 1 company (UK Insurance Ltd)

Try Egg. I insured my UK99 Scoob through them last year when I was 22. 5 years ncb, 1 TS10 IN 2000, and no accidents for just over £1000 Fully comp with protected NCB.

just had my renewal through from tescos - £1349, applied online and i can get it for £1000 on their website, all the same details. Phoned them up and they reccomend that I end my insurance with them and start afresh with the new quote as above?

I actually have a good postcode so its not that give tescos another try today, just seemed strange, I put it down to having 6 points? was looking at scoobs last year and had plenty of good quotes and Ive picked up another 3 points since

I'll keep onto it, just very dissapointed. Adrian Flux wouldnt insure me til Im 25 and I aint waitting another 8 months.

that 4k quote from confused was for the misses as the main driver, if I put the car in my name confused gave back £1273 FC. not too bad I suppose, next stop is trying to insure an Import as I'll have much more choice over the cars for sale.

This makes no sense ! 2000 Uk £1300, 98 wrx sti £900 same value car ? same insurance broker ? same postcode everything ? I am guessing more Uk ones get written off ???? Tesco's and Admiral have always been the best for me and my postcode ?
