Default L&V do NOT insure Type R

Just been on the phone to L&V to amend my policy as it simply said WRX STI (Import) to be told that the type r is not on their database and therefore is not covered. They offered me 7 days grace to find another company. So has anyone got any recommendations???

URGENT help needed

Bunch of to$$ers dont insure type r but insure 2 door wrx sti imports so apparently all is well, they are going to do check with their underwriters. They say number of doors makes no difference....even more Apparently all type r's say simply 'wrx sti import' on the schedule,i should know the outcome tomorrow

I had this same kind of scenario with LV on Monday.

Up untill 8 weeks ago I had been insured through them on my 4 door WRX import. I sold the car, bought a cheap runaround and changed the policy accordingly. They gave me a hefty refund

Then over the weekend bought a 5 door WRX import and sold the runaround. Spoke to them to change the policy to which they said "we don't have a 5 door import, only a 2 door or 4 door - however we do have a UK 5 door. I suggested they qutoe me for the 4 door import WRX since its exactly the same bar the bodyshell. They said they'd speak to the underwriters. Half an hour later they rang me back saying thats fine - its the same price as a 4 door with an ammendmet on file saying its the 5 door version of the import WRX.

So it can be done

It all depends on who you speak to ie someone who knows what they are doing

Spoke to them again this afternoon and they confirmed that they do have a 'WRX STI 2 door import' on their database therefore the policy is valid and will carry on.They also said that the number of doors are irrelevant so ive asked for a letter confirming this as backup.

What a bloody carry on,still happy ending
