I'm just about to make a few semi-serious mods to the car.
Does anyone know how much premiums are affected ?
I'm fitting new turbo/injectors/ecu etc..
98Uk car.
Thanks

Find out *before* you do the work. And arrange different cover if needed.
I was all up for brake upgrade, but my insurance company would have cancelled my policy immediately

Yup, it'd be for the best - sorry to be a bearer of bad news
That was my experience at least, which put a real dampener on a deal I was doing to buy the brakes... I couldn't afford to do it all at once, so the 4 pots ended up staying
Hopefully you'll be more lucky. For reference, I was with Axa direct, who do not allow any modifications whatsoever to the car's factory braking setup!

Bizzare !
Cant understand why you'd be penalised for making your car brake better.
I'm with Tesco at the moment. So gonna give them a call and ask what the premium would be if i done the mods.
Fingers crossed !

Just tell them approx for now, I presume you will get it eventually rolling roaded, so you can confirm to them the correct increase once done.
You will prob be suprised at the increase in premium, so you may need to consider shopping around.
How old are you?

You may want to try Liverpool & Victoria, from previous posts in the insurance section they are not to bothered about mods, unless the car has a different engine or its capacity has been increased.
I'm not to sure if they would insure under 30's or not.

Be very carefull with the mods when insurance is involved. I am insured with Vauxhall insurance (I used to have a Vectra GSI).
The insurance is great at £650 fully comp for me and the missus.
Me 29 FNCB she 25 Learner.
Heres the good bit i have fitted a SS exhaust and its cost me an extra £170 a year on insurance. If i was to fit the 19" wheels i had in mind it would increase my insurance by another £400 per year, how ridiculas is that.
